Announcing our new name:
 
 Accreditation Commission
for Education in Nursing
(ACEN)

Effective May 6, 2013

The work of the Commission will continue uninterrupted during the transition to the new name. The Accreditation Manual, policies, and procedures are unchanged, and the adoption of the new name will in no way affect the current accreditation status of the Commission's accredited nursing programs.The change to ACEN has been reviewed and accepted by the USDOE; the USDOE website has already been updated to reflect the change to ACEN: http://www2.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/accreditation_pg7.html#health

The ACEN announces the 2013 Standards and Criteria

Programs being reviewed in the Spring 2013 and Fall 2013 Cycles may continue to use the 2008 Standards and Criteria.  All programs must fully implement and be in compliance with the 2013 ACEN Standards and Criteria by January 1, 2014.

A new nurse administrator faces many challenges when assuming the leadership role for any type of nursing program. This workshop will provide the new nurse administrator with information related to accreditation policies and processes. Attendees will be oriented to the responsibilities of the nurse leader in maintaining compliance with the Accreditation Standards and be provided helpful direction related to reporting and maintenance of documentation. If you are a new nurse administrator or are new to accreditation, this workshop is for you!
