EXPERIENCED PROGRAM EVALUATORS NEEDED...
NLNAC is seeking nominations for experienced evaluators to serve as Evaluation Review Panelists for the 2008-2011 term.
The role of the Evaluation Review Panel (ERP) is to ensure that the process of peer evaluation has been carried out in accordance to the NLNAC Accreditation Standards and Criteria. The panelists review the findings of the site visit teams and make recommendations for accreditation status to the Commission.
Nominees should be evaluators who have made multiple site visits to programs seeking initial and continuing accreditation. Nominees selected and approved by the NLNAC Board of Commissioners serve for a three year term at two Panels per year.
Please forward nominations to Dominique Dumlao at email@example.com or call 212.363.5555 ext. 419

MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - DR. SHARON J. TANNER - Spring has finally arrived in New York! The air is crisp, the flowers are blooming, and bright colors have appeared on the sidewalks…it is wonderful to put the cold weather behind us. One of the things that I miss most about being on a college campus is the anticipation that this time of year brings as the academic year draws to a close. Graduation is just around the corner for many of the new nurses that will soon enter the workforce!
As many of you prepare for the end of another successful academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the hard work and commitment that you have demonstrated to the thousands of graduates that will soon take their place as professional nurses in the healthcare environment. We here at NLNAC are honored to be your partner in this endeavor and will remain hard at work to fulfill our allegiance to you in ensuring that every accredited program is a quality program.
The first quarter of 2008 has been a very busy one with the publication of the new Standards and Criteria, production of the new Accreditation Manual, successful Self-Study Forums, and many more activities. Best wishes to each of you as you continue the essential role you play as nurse educators in ensuring the health of your communities!
THE NEW 2008 ACCREDITATION MANUAL IS ON ITS WAY - Hot off the presses! The printing of the 2008 Accreditation Manual has just just been completed, and they are on their way by mail to all NLNAC-accredited programs, candidates, and Self-Study Forum attendees. Shortly following the completion of the mailing, the manual will also be available for download through our website. Anyone desiring additional printed copies may purchase online at
www.nlnac.org/order.htm or by contacting Yvonne Lopez at firstname.lastname@example.org or 212.812.0367.
ENHANCEMENTS TO NLNAC.ORG TO BETTER SERVE YOU - We are committed to providing the best customer service to our constituents. Plans for the redesigning of the NLNAC website are in development. In the meantime, we are thrilled to introduce new enhancements to our current site dedicated to resources and information on the accreditation processes. Areas in the new 'RESOURCES' menu will be devoted to nurse administrators with helpful information such as Guidelines for the Preparation of the Self-Study Report and downloadable forms/applications while other areas will be specific to our program evaluators and include information in preparation for site visits. The release is scheduled for the first week of May. Be sure to visit us online at
