Biographical Sketch


Jane FooteJane Foote joined the NLNAC professional staff in November 2011. In her role as NLNAC Associate Director for Accreditation Services, she will assist programs with substantive changes and candidacy.

Ms. Foote graduated with her baccalaureate in nursing from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and completed her master’s degree in parent child health nursing at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. Her doctoral graduate work at the University of St Thomas in Minneapolis was focused on educational leadership and policy administration. Her dissertation is a phenomenological study of registered nurses with clinical reasoning.

Ms. Foote has a clinical background which includes experience in pediatrics and obstetrics. She has over 20 years of experience as a nurse educator and college administrator. She has taught and administered in both associate and practical nursing programs. Most recently, Ms. Foote served as the Executive Director of HealthForce Minnesota, a statewide center of excellence in the Minnesota State Colleges and University System. The Center focuses on healthcare industry and education and is based at Winona State University located in Rochester, Minnesota.

Ms. Foote has published in the area of leadership and, most recently, has co-authored an article to be published in the January 2012 issue of Journal of Nursing Regulation on program approval and accreditation.
